Learning is fun!
\
Who Am I?I've been teaching at Holy Family Elementary School for over 15 years, in a variety of capacities. I first taught grade 6 students for several years and have recently been working with students who need some support, navigating through the educational system. In my capacity as Vice Principal, not only do I have the ability to get to know students on a more in-depth level, but I get to do some interesting things such as putting together the monthly newsletter as well as working on school-wide projects that reach out to our greater school community.
At times I don't know who learns more - students or myself. Every day is a journey into the known as well as the vast expanse of the unknown. Working in a Catholic school gives me an additional perspective on the wonder of God's creation as well as an enhanced spiritual slant to my teaching. I have a BA (Geography), BEd, and an MA in Geography (glacial focus) as well as additional training in Special Education and English as a Second Language. A work/life balance is often difficult to attain. But when I have a moment away from work, time is spent in my kayak, traveling, or walking. |
